Da Vinci – The Genius
Inventor, artist, scientist, engineer, sculptor, anatomist, biologist, musician, architect, philosopher ….. Leonardo da Vinci was all of these things... and we have all these themes on display under the one roof in our world class travelling exhibition Da Vinci - The Genius.

Grande Exhibitions and the Il Genio di Leonardo da Vinci Museo of Rome, Italy teamed together to showcase internationally: Da Vinci – The Genius. The exhibition includes rare reproductions of Leonardo’s codices (notebooks) and many concepts and inventions contained inside these codices have been studied meticulously and brought to life by our Italian Artisans. These represent Leonardo’s machine inventions.

Also on display are high quality reproductions of Leonardo’s most famous renaissance art in actual size (the originals are considered too precious and fragile to move from their base in world museums), an amazing series of anatomical sketches; the famous Anghiari Battle preparatory drawings and entertaining and educational presentations in 3D/HD of the Last Supper, the Vitruvian Man, the Mona Lisa and one of Leonardo’s most ambitious projects, the Sforza horse sculpture. Add to this a theatrette displaying an hour long documentary, highly informative audio guide, workshop areas for children and students, and extensive retail shop for merchandise. In some venues we even have a contemporary themed Mona Lisa Cafe.

Many exhibit items are interactive, some are to scale, some are life size whilst others are oversize; all made to enhance the impact and viewing experience for the visitor.

In late 2007 the works on The Mona Lisa by French Scientific Engineer Pascal Cotte were also incorporated, making the exhibition even more compelling to visit (see Secrets of Mona Lisa section). This amazing display of ultra high resolution, infra red and ultra violet images by Cotte was produced from his self invented and patented 240,000,000 pixel multispectral camera.

Cotte was invited into The Louvre by The French Government to undertake a detailed scientific examination of the masterpiece using the best and latest technology (Cotte’s camera and scientific analysis process) The startling results culminated in 25 verified revelations on the Mona Lisa, as well as detailed understanding and analysis of how Da Vinci painted her and the effect of each restoration and varnish application. This makes for compelling viewing for art aficionados and general interest people alike.

The combined effect has helped Grande Exhibitions produce the most outstanding and comprehensive exhibition travelling the world on a man who is arguably the greatest genius of all time.
